The Swidnica plant has been TRUE certified for zero waste by GBCI as part of our efforts to support our sustainability strategy. In order to achieve the certification, teamwork between different areas: warehouse, administration, production, purchasing and our suppliers was very important. Our efforts were based on strengthening our employees' culture of waste segregation. Not only employees, but also visitors and contractors were trained in the correct classification of waste, proper waste handling, and reducing our environmental impact.
The digitization program, which migrates electronic documents to digital forms, has allowed a significant reduction in paper consumption. Organic waste is treated in a special food dryer and the compost produced in the process is used in our fruit orchard. We reuse pallets, shipping containers and IBCs. Meanwhile scrap metal, plastic waste, cream in IBCs and wood are also recycled. The actions described and our zero waste efforts have resulted in no waste produced in Swidnica going to landfill, reduced incineration, lowered costs and strengthened our commitment to zero waste and sustainability culture.
